Chimney Inspections and Safety Inspections
What is Included In A Chimney Inspection?
By trusting SirVent Lexington with your chimney inspections, you can ensure another year of safety with your chimney. We follow the National Fire Protection Association’s (NFPA) recommendations and guidelines through our inspections. Our team is CSIA certified and will be sure to do each level of inspection to their standards. There are three levels: A level 1 inspection is a basic look at accessible areas of the fireplace and chimney. A level 2 inspection includes a level 1 inspection as well as a video camera inspection to check the flue from top to bottom. If problems are not resolved with a level 2 inspection, a level 3 inspection will be used to diagnose the problem by removing portions of the system. Luckily, we perform all levels of inspections!
When To Schedule an Inspection
Generally, a chimney inspection should be conducted annually as recommended by the CSIA. However, certain circumstances may require additional inspections such as
- after severe weather or weather damage
- after a chimney fire
- when the property is changing hands (buying/selling real estate)
- if your system has been unused for an extended period of time.
During these inspections we will be looking for debris, damages, blockages and creosote. Know the condition of your fireplace and chimney by scheduling annual inspections to enjoy a safer, cleaner, stronger and more efficient chimney system.
